Dirty Makeup Brushes = Skin Problems
Turquoise Springs Medical Spa·WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, 2018
Your makeup brushes, puffs, and sponges touch your face daily and rarely get cleaned. Cosmetic tools should be cleaned on a regular basis with soap and warm water or brush cleaner like we use at the spa. Here are the reasons you should never use a dirty makeup brush:
- Your pores can get clogged and cause breakouts.
- Your makeup will look worse. Dirty brushes lead to muddy looking makeup.
- You could get pink eye. It can be spread by sharing eye brushes.
- Your skin can get irritated as bristles get stiffer from product build up.
- You will waste money buying new ones as brushes that are regularly cleaned last longer.
- Sticky eyelash brushes or curlers can lead to pulling your eyelashes out.
- A makeup sponge full of bacteria attracts bugs. Ewwww.
